In the case of the number 40, a lot:
-A little one spends 40 weeks preparing for the world.
-The rain of Noah's Flood lasted 40 days and nights.
-Moses lived 40 years as a prince of Egypt, 40 as a shepherd, and 40 as the leader of his people. (And he spent 40 days and nights on Mount Sinai.)
-The Israelites wandered in the wilderness for 40 years before entering the Promised Land.
-Ninevah had 40 days to respond to Jonah's call to repentance. (And did.)
-Jesus fasted in the wilderness for 40 days and nights and spent 40 days with His disciples before His Ascension.
-Edgar Allan Poe lived 40 years, from January 19, 1809 to October 7, 1849.
-Ronald Reagan was the 40th President of the United States.
-The 40 Lions!
